Symptoms after the community event

Around 100 people sought hospital care after the second traditional Mevlid and Rice Day in Çitli, in Bursa’s İnegöl district. According to Son Dakika, chicken and rice was served to approximately 1,000 people. Some participants developed nausea and vomiting about three hours later and attended İnegöl State Hospital.

Investigation and samples

The gendarmerie opened an investigation. Habertürk’s report from DHA also says samples of chicken and rice were taken for analysis. Food poisoning is suspected, but no finding establishing the exact cause or identifying a particular microorganism has been announced.

Serving approximately 1,000 people does not mean all became ill.
