The suspect sought over the Afyonkarahisar shootings underwent medical checks at Yunus Emre State Hospital after being captured in Eskişehir. Some bystanders protested as he left; security officers placed him in a vehicle and drove away.

According to Anadolu Agency, after processing by the gendarmerie, the suspect was handed to Afyonkarahisar officers and taken to the province leading the investigation.

Eight people killed

Eight people died and one was seriously injured in the November 5 attacks. Two teachers at Yukarıtandır Middle School were among those killed. A deputy chief prosecutor and three prosecutors have been assigned. Broadcasting regulator RTÜK announced a court-imposed reporting restriction concerning the incident. Investigators continue to examine the motive.
