The suspect in shootings that killed eight people in Afyonkarahisar reportedly complained to police months earlier that his car had been attacked. Reports attributed to İHA date that complaint to March 17, 2026.

According to those accounts, he said the vehicle parked outside his home in Hasan Karaağaç neighbourhood was damaged overnight and rendered unusable. No verified identity has been announced for whoever damaged it.

Investigators are examining any connection with the November attacks. The earlier complaint does not establish their motive. Reports of a debt dispute likewise remain allegations under investigation. The suspect was captured in Eskişehir and transferred to Afyonkarahisar; one person seriously injured in the shootings remains under treatment.
