Aynur Ekici, a 49-year-old tailor, was killed in an armed attack by her former husband Doğan Yavuz at her workplace in Ankara’s Yenimahalle district. DHA reported that Yavuz also died at the scene; initial police findings indicate he took his own life after the attack.

Emergency teams were called to Başkent Boulevard in Batıkent at around 13:00. The bodies were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute after examination of the scene.

The couple, who had two children, divorced in 2021. The police investigation is continuing.
