İsmail Yüksek was named Player of the Match in Fenerbahçe’s 3-2 Champions League victory over Liverpool, according to Sporx. The outlet reported that UEFA’s Technical Observer Group selected the Türkiye midfielder for the award.

In the assessment relayed by Sporx, Yüksek was praised for helping limit Liverpool’s attacking threat through the middle alongside N’Golo Kanté and Mattéo Guendouzi. His contribution to the defensive structure stood out rather than a goal-scoring contribution.

Dirk Kuyt included Yüksek in the starting line-up. Fenerbahçe twice came from behind to win through goals from Greenwood, Archie Brown and Vedat Muriqi.

UEFA’s official Champions League Player of the Match award is decided by the technical observer group assessing each fixture.
