The reopening of Kartepe’s long-closed Green Park Hotel remains uncertain ahead of the ski season. An October 30 report by Kocaeli Gündem described deterioration, water leaks and ceiling damage at the property.

Differing accounts of remedial work

That report alleged 33 safety deficiencies remained unresolved. In a November 5 interview with Çağdaş Kocaeli, tourism association head Kamil Öçbe said he had been told 16 were addressed. Remaining work and the authorisation process must still be completed, he said. This does not amount to confirmation of an operating permit.

Operator Adil Üstündağ previously said investments had been made in fire safety. No firm reopening date has been announced. The closure affects accommodation capacity and businesses serving visitors to the mountain.
