Police detained Ercan Demircioğlu on suspicion of shooting his estranged wife and a young man who intervened in Kilimli, Zonguldak. According to DHA’s account, he was found in woodland roughly five kilometres from the scene and later taken to the courthouse.

Attack in Çatalağzı

The shooting occurred on the night of 20 October in Doğancılar neighbourhood. The suspect, reportedly subject to a restraining order, allegedly tried to force Burçin Demircioğlu into a car. The 41-year-old woman and 27-year-old Emre Çorak, who intervened, were shot.

Both victims in critical condition

The injured were initially taken to Zonguldak Atatürk State Hospital. Çorak was subsequently transferred to Bülent Ecevit University Hospital and intubated. Both were reported to remain in life-threatening condition at the time of the report.

The 48-year-old suspect was found on the morning of 21 October. Following police procedures and a medical check, he was brought to Zonguldak Courthouse.
