Six suspects have been detained over the killing of Bahaddin Sefer, whose body was found inside a refrigerator beneath concrete in Mersin in 2007. Justice Minister Akın Gürlek said investigators took statements from 32 people after revisiting the file.

Sefer was reported missing in 2001; DNA testing identified the remains found in 2007. The 19-year interval therefore runs from discovery, not an established date of death.

DHA reports operations in Mersin, Batman, İzmir, Aydın, Yozgat and Sivas. The Mersin chief prosecutor’s investigation continues.
