Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted the children and mothers from families of Russian soldiers killed in the war in Ukraine at the Kremlin. According to Interfax, citing Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the tea gathering followed National Unity Day events on 4 November.

Invitation after Red Square meeting

Earlier in the day, Putin spoke with children, youth organisation representatives and volunteers on Red Square. He then invited children whose fathers had died in the war to continue their conversation at the Kremlin. RBC, citing the Kremlin press service, reported that their mothers accompanied them.

Deputy Defence Minister Anna Tsivilyova, who chairs the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, also attended. Putin had laid flowers at the monument to Minin and Pozharsky on Red Square earlier that day.

The gathering formed part of events marking Russia’s annual National Unity Day on 4 November. Conflict shared footage on X, available through the original post below.
