Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek outlined fund-liquidation measures in a joint Bloomberg HT–Habertürk broadcast. He said certain individuals and companies with inflation-adjusted gains of at least 10 million lira would initially be asked to repay voluntarily, with legal proceedings if repayment did not follow.

High returns do not themselves prove a crime

His remarks concerned transactions under investigation. The threshold alone does not establish wrongdoing or place all investors in the same legal position.

The one-million-lira payment objective

Şimşek said payments up to one million lira would be accelerated after legislation passes, depending on each fund’s resources. He referred to around 390,000 accounts; accounts are not necessarily individual people. This is not a guaranteed payment date for everyone.

Progress and remaining uncertainty

He reported 40.8 billion lira transferred to 45,747 accounts and differing recovery rates by fund type. Final liquidation may take time. Investors should follow official notices for their own funds rather than treating aggregate figures as their personal entitlement.
