President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said he intends to visit Azerbaijan for its Victory Day events on 8 November, provided no exceptional circumstances arise. He outlined the plan while answering reporters’ questions on his return from South Korea.

Contacts with Aliyev continue

Asked about suggestions of a crisis between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, Erdoğan said he had held telephone conversations with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. He said he had also sent his foreign minister and intelligence chief to Azerbaijan, with contacts continuing at several levels.

Erdoğan stressed the countries’ shared history and culture, describing their relationship as broader than conventional diplomatic exchanges. He did not announce a detailed programme for the planned visit.

The remarks followed his Seoul trip, scheduled for 1–4 November according to Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications. Talks with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung covered trade, investment and defence cooperation.
