Some supporters outside Fenerbahçe’s stadium celebrated Slavia Prague’s equaliser after mistaking it for a home goal, according to a Son Dakika report citing Sporthive. The misunderstanding occurred when the visitors scored in the 90th minute of the 2-2 draw.

Brief celebration turns to disappointment

The report said the group near Chobani Stadium interpreted the noise as a Fenerbahçe goal. On learning which team had scored, supporters were disappointed and some reacted towards the stands.

Late goal denies home win

Oğuz Aydın scored in the fourth minute and Mason Greenwood in the 11th during the Champions League match on 20 October. Lukáš Provod replied in the 15th before Pavel Kačor equalised in the 90th.

Fenerbahçe led 2-1 at half-time but finished with one point from the match and two from three games. The brief celebrations outside the stadium ended once the actual score became clear.
