Polish President Karol Nawrocki cut short his flight to Senegal and returned to Warsaw amid a Constitutional Tribunal leadership crisis. A notice had announced the one-month suspension of tribunal president Bogdan Święczkowski and his deputy.
Nawrocki later went to the building. Footage described by Son Dakika shows an argument and brief jostling at the entrance with Anna Korwin-Piotrowska, who said she had assumed temporary leadership.
The suspension’s validity is disputed. Prime Minister Donald Tusk presents the action as restoring the rule of law; opponents reject it. A longstanding judicial-appointments dispute underlies the confrontation.
