President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the roadmap for the fund investigation and liquidation payments is being implemented. Speaking to reporters on his return from South Korea, he said extraordinary liquidation payments had begun after ordinary liquidations.

Payments linked to recoveries

According to Erdoğan, payments under the extraordinary process started on Friday, 30 October, and are continuing. He said no public money would be used, with payments to eligible recipients following recoveries from those with financial obligations.

The Fund Coordination Board chaired by Vice-President Cevdet Yılmaz meets regularly to assess payment arrangements, he said. He also noted that the State Supervisory Council is conducting its own examination.

Erdoğan said allegations of irregularities and market manipulation were being investigated by the judiciary. He did not provide a new list of individuals or a payment date for each investor.

Liquidation payments and the criminal inquiry remain distinct parts of the process. His remarks set out the government’s funding approach; findings on individual allegations remain a matter for judicial proceedings.
