Türkiye’s Ministry of Family and Social Services filed a criminal complaint over a sock-sale and donation announcement by Ersan Gülmez, known online as Ersan Diamond. The ministry objected to children in state care being associated with the campaign.
Post removal requested
Gülmez had said he would sell the socks he wore during Fenerbahçe–Liverpool and donate the proceeds to children in state care. The ministry sought assessment under Article 301/1 of the Turkish Penal Code and requested removal of the content and restrictions on access.
It said the foundation named as recipient on the shared receipt was a separate legal entity, not an organisation within the ministry. It objected to presenting a donation to that foundation as a direct donation to the ministry or children under its protection.
A complaint and a removal request do not amount to a conviction or an implemented access ruling. The statement did not report a judicial decision on those requests.
