Former family minister Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya has been remanded in custody in an investigation into securities transactions. Her husband İlyas Kaya and former capital markets regulator chief İbrahim Ömer Gönül were released under reporting requirements and travel bans.

Prosecutors examine timing

Anadolu Agency’s account of the referral document highlights Kaya’s September 16 transfer of Özata Denizcilik shares to Tera Yatırım and same-day payment. The liquidation decision followed the next day. Prosecutors cited that timing and contacts with Tera executives as grounds for suspecting use of non-public information.

The allegations concern securities law violations and membership of a criminal organisation. Remand is a precautionary measure before trial and does not establish guilt.
