Former minister Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya, her husband İlyas Kaya and former capital markets regulator SPK chairman İbrahim Ömer Gönül arrived at Istanbul’s courthouse for further questioning in the fund investigation. They are being questioned as suspects.
Questions about transactions
Footage reported by Son Dakika showed reporters asking Kaya about the source of 163 million lira. She and her husband went to the prosecutor’s floor without answering. The question itself does not establish wrongdoing.
The couple had previously given statements on 7 October. In earlier testimony described in the report, they denied receiving privileged information or guidance for transactions in Özata Denizcilik shares. They also said proceeds had been transferred to an account designated by TMSF. Diken noted that no official statement had confirmed whether repayment was completed or its amount.
Gönül had been released after giving a statement on 30 September. The latest questioning is part of an ongoing investigation, not a reported final conviction.
