Fenerbahçe issued a medical update on Marco Asensio and Nathan Aké on 21 October. The club expects Asensio’s treatment and rehabilitation after surgery to take around three months, while Aké faces an estimated three-week recovery programme.

Asensio has surgery in Spain

The Spanish midfielder underwent an arthroscopic operation for a cartilage lesion in his left knee joint. Fenerbahçe said the procedure, conducted in Spain under the supervision of the club doctor, was successful. His treatment and rehabilitation are expected to last approximately three months.

Aké’s scan results confirmed

The Dutch defender underwent an MRI at Ataşehir Medicana Hospital after being injured against Slavia Prague on 20 October. The scan and examination by the club doctor revealed a moderate strain and swelling in the back of his right thigh.

Aké was unable to continue in the first half of the 2-2 draw and was replaced by Kojo Peprah Oppong in the 21st minute. The estimated three-week programme points to an absence from short-term defensive plans.

Asensio’s absence from the attacking options is set to last longer. The club’s timelines are estimates for treatment and rehabilitation; it did not announce fixed return dates for either player.
